Jenny Magenta!

Jenny Magenta blew onto the burlesque scene in 2007 and has been honing her craft since. Her unique and outlandish style has graced stages hundreds of times from Victoria BC to New York City. Magenta’s interest in burlesque came via a dare. Being that she was already a dancer, clown and physical theatre performer – the idea of burlesque was intriguing. Her first number was about having bad period cramps and following that….a tragi-comic tribute to Janis Joplin doing “Cry Baby”. Soon thereafter she began to play with the rules and develop her own contemporary interpretation of burlesque – performance art burlesque with a hard side of satire, if you will. With over 35 years of performing arts experience that includes The National Ballet School of Canada, bouffon clown and flamenco – she never ceases to surprise the audience. A proud member of the lgbtq and disability community she never shies from putting it all out on stage. 2019 is Magenta’s last year of performing burlesque professionally and she is grateful for the opportunity to share her work with you.
